The investigation into the March 26 death of a man on Town Flat was closed this week after a toxicology report indicated that the cause of death was an accidental overdose.
Jeffery Dale Lykins, 51, of Salyersville, was located unresponsive in a barn at 11436 Highway 378 at about 9:15 on the evening of March 26.
The 911 caller said he was not breathing and “cold to the touch.”
No autopsy was performed, but toxicology reports indicated that Lykins died from an overdose of a mixture of Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Breathitt County Sheriff John Hollan closed the investigation after the death was ruled accidental by Breathitt County Coroner Hargis Epperson after toxicology results were returned recently from the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab.
Lykins was the son of Delmer D. and Wanda Faye (Wiley) Lykins and was buried in the Lykins Family Cemetery at Vancleve.
