A rising Breathitt County gymnastics star claimed his first two national championships on June 16 and 17 during competitions in Wisconsin.
Carson McKnight, an 11-year-old Breathitt Elementary student, took first place in the tumbling and double-mini sub advanced boys floor competition at the 2026 United States Tumbling Association’s Tumbling and Trampoline National Championships in Madison, Wisconsin.
The championship caps a year-long run of success that included 18 first-place finishes and three second-place finishes.
McKnight is the son of Scotty and Crystal McKnight and was formerly a member of the Spark Athletes team, but is currently a member of the Dynamite Twisters.
At the Wisconsin event, Carson claimed two national championships and added a second-place finish.
