Vurl Fugate, 75 of Ned, Ky, husband of Dianne Fugate, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky with his loving wife by his side.
Vurl was born July 18, 1950 at Ned, Kentucky to the late Edward and Vesta Noble Fugate. Vurl was also preceded in death by his son, Vurl Fugate Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Granville and Julie Fugate; his maternal grandparents, Ambrose and Omega Noble; his brother, James Edward Fugate.
Along with his wife of 37 years, Vurl is also survived by a special cousin, Glen Noble, who is considered as a brother; a sister, Inez Liftig (Robert); a grandson, Liam Jacob Fugate; nieces, Anya Liftig and Dorothy Saenz (Steven).
Vurl was a retired businessman owning his own trucking company. During his spare time he enjoyed grouse hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and he especially enjoyed time with his family and friends.
Vurl was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Jackson.
Visitation for Vurl will begin Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel with his memorial service to begin at 1:00 PM with Tim Miller in charge of the services.
