Rev. Jesse Turner, 79, of Talbert, Kentucky entered into eternal rest at the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee on October 8, 2025. Born on April 4, 1946 in Talbert, Kentucky he lived a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to his family and community.

A proud graduate of high school and a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era, Rev. Turner carried his sense of duty and compassion into every aspect of his life. After his military service, he became a self-employed store owner. Yet it was clear to all who knew him that his true calling was preaching the Word of God and serving others. His ministry was not confined to the pulpit—it extended into homes, hospitals and hearts throughout the region.

Rev. Turner dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel and offering comfort to those in need. Whether visiting the sick or lending a helping hand to someone struggling, he embodied the spirit of Christian service with humility and grace.

He was a member of the Macedonia Old Regular Baptist Church.

He shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jo Ann Cornett Turner until her passing. Together they built a loving family grounded in faith and mutual respect.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Craig Turner (Melissa), daughter, Tracy Hukill (Mike), grandchildren, Alexis Turner, Jacob Turner, Devin Hukill and Kaylin Hukill; brothers, Talbert Turner, Sammie Turner and Bobby Turner; and sister, Ruth Deaton.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Jo Ann Cornett Turner;   parents, Wilson and Ellen Herald Turner and brother, Johnny Turner.

Outside of his ministry work, Rev. Turner enjoyed fishing and watching sports. But above all else, he treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren—moments filled with laughter, stories, and love.

Visitation for Rev. Turner will be held Thursday, October 16, at the Breathitt Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with funeral service being held Friday, October 17, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Pat Turner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Alice B. Turner Cemetery at Talbert with Craig Turner, Mike Hukill, Alexis Turner, Jacob Turner, Devin Hukill and Kaylin Hukill serving as pallbearers.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and may his legacy of faith continue to inspire all whose lives he touched.
