Tamala Charlene Hensley, age 61, of St. Helens, KY passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born December 4, 1964, in Dayton, OH and was the daughter of the late Charlie Thorpe. She was preceded also in death by son: William Scott Hensley. Sister: Pamala Charlene Thorpe. Her grandparents: Andrew & Lula Thorpe and Harry & Nettie Fisher.
She is survived by her husband: William Hensley of St. Helens, KY. Her mother: Velma Fisher Thorpe of Dayton, OH. Her son: Dodge Allen Hensley & Bonny of Dayton, OH; Daughter: Jessica Hensley & Robert of Dayton, OH; Three brothers: Charles Andrew Thorpe, Harry Russell Thorpe & Dawn; William “Billy” James Robert Thorpe & Amanda all of Dayton, OH. Two sisters: Lula Thorpe & Thomas and Cora Allen, both of Dayton, OH. Grandchildren: Jacob Whitely, Jared Hensley, Zack Hensley, Jasmine Whitely, Lindsey Ward, Leslie Ward, Alvin Spicer Jr.; Tanner Hensley, Mikayla Keith, Katlin Tincher. Great grandchildren: Ameila Hobbs, Michael Whitely, Hope Whitely. Special sister-in-law: Patty Creech & Carl as well as two other sisters in law and a host of nieces, nephews, many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 am at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Turner and Hensley Cemetery, Lower Twin Road, at Athol, KY. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 pm- 9:00 pm at the funeral home. Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
