Joyce Moore Anderson, age 78, of Canoe, Kentucky passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2026 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Born on December 22, 1947 in Altro, Kentucky, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Sam and Betty Moore.

A retired bank teller from First National Bank, Joyce was known for her dedication and warm demeanor during her career. She was a proud member of Hampton United Methodist Church where her faith was a cornerstone of her life.

Joyce loved collecting Pioneer Woman dishes, watching WLJC programming, chatting on the phone with loved ones and friends, reading and cheering on UK basketball. Above all else, she treasured spending time with her beloved companion Jesse Hall and her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Tami Anderson Watts (Jon) and Terri Young; her brothers, James Moore (Becky) and Ray Moore (Trish); her sisters, Ruth Queen (Rich), Sue Townsend (Jeff Flaugher) and Sharon Deaton (Mike); her granddaughter, Kasey Young (Jordan) and her special grandson, Trey Salyers. Joyce also held a special place in her heart for Michelle and Gary Salyers, Lisa and David Moore, Addie Salyers, David and Amanda Moore and their children and Kelli Moore. Her loyal canine companions Hank, Honey and Tucker brought additional joy to her days.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Anderson; son-in-law, David Young; parents, Sam and Betty Moore and in-laws, Redwine and Sallebelle Anderson.

Visitation for Joyce will begin Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the Breathitt Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until the time of her funeral at 2:00 PM. Philip Swartzentruber and John Bunn will be officiating her funeral service.

Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery at Canoe Road with Tyler Rhodes, Robbie Moore, Doug Moore, Scott Moore, Jamey Moore, Chase Deaton, Shane Payton, Edwin Henson, Brady Salisbury, Isaac Bostron and Jeff Hamilton serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers include Bonnie Howard, Mary Vires Fugate, Jill Moore, Vada Baker, Tina Coyle, Angela Lemons Short, Lavonne Warren, Darlene Johnson, Janice Spicer, Jana Neace and Allison Manning.

Her memory will be lovingly cherished by all who knew her. May the legacy of her kindness and love bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
