Jack Fugate

Jack Fugate, age 71 of Vancleve, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord Monday, August 17, 2026 at his home. He was born on July 21, 1955 in Perry County, Kentucky to the late Matt and Nancy Sizemore Fugate.

Jack worked as a security guard and business manager during his life. Beyond his work, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was known for the time he spent singing, playing guitar, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed making others laugh, a part of his life that will be remembered by those who knew him.

He shared 51 years of marriage with his wife, Diana Fugate and would have marked 52 years in September. In addition to Diana, family includes his daughters, Monika Fugate and Jacqueline (Jerry) Campbell; his grandchildren, twins - Caleb Fugate (Cadence) and Nataley Fugate (Andrew); his brothers, Raymond (Kay) Fugate and Ken (Amanda) Fugate; and his sister, Ranie Laconte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Matt and Nancy Sizemore Fugate; his brothers, Monroe, Andrew and Jerry; and his sisters, Easter, Inez, Rachel and Lily.

Visitation for Jack will be held Friday, August 21, 2026 at the Breathitt Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with his funeral scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 11:00 AM with John Tincher officiating. Military rites are scheduled to begin at the beginning of his funeral service.

Burial will follow in the Fugate Cemetery on Hwy. 205 at Vancleve with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Jack will be remembered for a life centered on family, work and the simple pleasures he enjoyed most. Whether singing, strumming a guitar, spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, or sharing laughter with others, he leaves behind the memory of a full and hardworking life. His memory will remain with his family and with all who knew him.
