Ella June was a woman who deeply loved her Savior Jesus Christ and who lived every aspect of her life as an outgrowth of that devotion. Her life and relationships embodied faithfulness. She was a patient listener and was content to be a behind-the-scenes supporter of many, and in particular of her husband and family. She was easily pleased and possessed a content spirit. Ella June was a very practical person, unimpressed with "bells and whistles" or showy pretense. She extended gracious hospitality and a warm impartial welcome to whomever showed up at the door. She also possessed a hidden spunk that showed up at interesting times. She will always be remembered by the family as a prayer warrior, humbly persistent and deeply confident in God's sovereignty and plans. Her sense of call to be a channel for God's love was evident in her service and presence. The family was reminded of this verse when remembering Ella June's prayer life: "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly." Matthew 6:16. Visitation will be Saturday, December 30, at the funeral home from 4:00PM - 8:00PM.
