Charles Cecil Clair, 85 of Jackson, Ky joined loved ones in eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, KY.  Cecil was the beloved husband of Susan Day Clair and on the date of his death they were to celebrate their 26th anniversary.

Cecil loved his family, especially his grandkids.  He loved family reunions, church, friends, meeting new people, a good game of rummy, a great buffet and he enjoyed a good guy session at the local Hardee's.

Cecil was one of the "Fairce Woods boys" - a great basketball player who will be remembered.  Cecil went on to play at Morehead State University and received letters from professional teams.  Cecil decided that he needed a job and became a teacher. 

Cecil served as Breathitt County Judge and was a member of the Oleika Shrine Temple and the Breathitt F&AM 649 Masonic Lodge.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Ervine and Ida Mae (Spicer) Clair; his precious son, Randall Lynn Clair; his brothers, Solomon Clair, Franklin Clair, Leander Clair, Bryant Clair and Roscoe Clair; his sisters, Ona Vee Clair, Martha Mercy Clair, Mary Lou Clair, Roberta Clair and Lilly Mae Noble.

Cecil is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Susan (Day) Clair; his children, Serrica Renee Haddix (Greg), Kimberly Michelle Spencer (Tim), Angel K. Barnes and Eric Caudill (Paula); his bonus daughter, Deana Spencer Tincher; mother of his children and loving wife of 33 1/2 years, Sue Jett Clair; his brother, Mitchell Clair (Vicki); his sisters, Irene Russell (Frank) and Shirley Johnson; his brothers-in-law, Jimmy Day (Wanda), David Day (Gaye) and Lonzo Day (Mary); his grandchildren, Tiffany and her mother, Dicey, Chance (Jessica) & Ben (Celeste) and their mother, Patsy, Cierra, Kellyn (Cody), Dysonn, Tyler (Cassie), Taylor, Justin (Erica), Annie (Tyler), Lyndze (Cory), Hunter, Kinley (Andrew); his great grandchildren, Maelyn, Randi , Avry, Kodi, River, Dyllen, Cora, Greyson, Keeley, Jace, Lawson, Lilly, Wesley, Maverick, Emeri and Arya.

Visitation for Cecil is scheduled to begin Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM with his funeral service to begin Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Ted Edmonds and Bobby Hollon in charge of service.  

A private family burial will follow in the Clair Family Cemetery at Coomer Fork Road in Lee County with Tiffany Clair, Cierra Southwood, Tyler Campbell, Chance Clair, Ben Allex, Kellyn Southwood Castro, Taylor Campbell, Dysonn Clair, Hunter Barnes, and Kinley Padgett serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Clair, Wendell Allen, Bob Deaton, Granville Deaton, Willie Bush, Frank Allen Fletcher, Alvin Gross, David Neace, Pernell Caudill, Rex Caudill, Hardee's Breakfast Group, Doug Allen(posthumous).
