Frieda Mae Adams Combs

Frieda Mae Adams Combs, 69, of Altro, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at her sister’s home in Nicholasville, Kentucky surrounded by her loving family.

Frieda was born on October 18, 1955 in Scottsburg, Indiana to the late Cleveland Ike Riley and Margaret Johnson Riley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Combs; her son, Keith Adams; her granddaughter, Isabella Renee Adams; her brother, Clint Hobbs; and her sisters, Wilma Morgan and Nancy Bowman.

A devoted homemaker, Frieda attended the Altro Church of God. She found joy in tending to her flowers and had a passion for attending trail rides when she had her horse. Above all, Frieda cherished spending time with her family, who meant the world to her.

She is survived by her two sons, John Wayne Adams (Rebecca) and Jason Adams (Margaret); her sister, Barbara Wheeler (Daniel); thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss her warmth and presence.

A memorial service to celebrate Frieda’s life will be announced here when scheduled.
