Susie Stidham, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, was called home to the Lord on April 14, 2025, in Middletown, Ohio, at the age of 67. Born on June 2, 1957, in Jackson, Kentucky, Susie was known for her kind and caring nature, her devotion to her family, and her love for life’s simple joys.

Susie was the cherished daughter of the late Kelly Gibbs and Eva Lee Gibbs. She grew up in a large, loving family alongside her brothers, Johnnie Gibbs, Carl Gibbs, Perry Gibbs, Herbert Gibbs, and Claude Gibbs, and her sisters, Belle Gillum, Bonnie Smith, Effie Gibbs, and Nancy Wills. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kelly and Eva Lee Gibbs, as well as her siblings Carl Gibbs, Effie Gibbs, and Perry Gibbs.
On the day of her funeral, Susie and her devoted husband, Larry Manuel Stidham, would have celebrated 52 years of marriage. Their enduring love and partnership were a cornerstone of her life, and their anniversary will forever mark a poignant memory of the life they shared.
Susie was a dedicated mother to her three children: Samantha (Glen) Luersman, Larry Travis (Mandy) Stidham, and Kevin (Cassy) Stidham. Her love extended to her six grandchildren: Cassie Stidham, Cody Stidham, Caleb Luersman, Koltan Luersman, Kaladin Stidham, and Kaine Stidham, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her family was her guiding light, and she always went out of her way to help those in need, offering kindness, support, and a warm meal to all.
An excellent cook, Susie was famous for her comforting chicken and dumplings, a dish that became her signature. Her children also cherished her fried pork chops, cornbread, mac and cheese, fried potatoes and green onion with a side of ketchup. Her kitchen was a place of love and connection, where family and friends gathered to share stories and create lasting memories.
Susie’s heart belonged to Kentucky, and she was a passionate fan of the University of Kentucky basketball team. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially sitting with family and friends, chatting, and playing games.
