Pauline Turner of Vancleve passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Born on July 19, 1933 in Holly, Kentucky she was 91 years of age at the time of her passing. She was the widow of the late Fred Turner and the daughter of the late Taylor and Pearl King Combs. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Frank Roger Combs and her sister, Wanda Hollon.
She dedicated much of her life to serving others as the Nutrition Director for the Breathitt County Senior Citizens through the Middle Kentucky Area Development Council. A woman of faith she was a member of the First Church of God and also attended Hampton United Methodist Church.
She found joy in gardening but cherished time with her family above all else.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Paula Turner Miller (Mike); her son, Phillip Steven Turner (Sheila); her brother, Bill Combs; her sisters, Phyllis Pence, Ettarene Taulbee and Betty Gillum. She leaves behind grandsons, Dr. Michael Douglas Miller, Phillip Shane Turner and Steven Scott Turner; great-granddaughters, Hannah Shay Turner and Alexis Stevie Madison Turner; and great-great grandson, Nicholas Steel Napier.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home with funeral service to take place Sunday, April 6, at 1:00 PM with John Bunn officiating.
Burial will follow in the Turner Hurst Cemetery at Vancleve with Frank Allen Fletcher, Robert Hurst, Dr. Michael D. Miller, Renee Niece, John Pence, Timothy Taulbee, Phillip Shane Turner, Sheila Turner, Steven Scott Turner serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn J. Brown JD, Anthony Combs, David Combs, George Fletcher, Carroll B. Forsythe, Gary Hollon, Glenn Hollon, Michael Hollon, Hatch Napier, Doug Pence, Joseph Taulbee, Jim Young.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
