Volunteers Continue Local Tradition

Volunteers from across Breathitt gave their time recently to continue an annual New Year’s tradition.

Representatives from numerous Breathitt County churches and community organizations came together to read the entire Bible.  Readers donated their time to read segments of the Bible aloud over speakers set up outside the Methodist Church on College Avenue.  The teams worked in shifts and completed the Bible in a few days.

Many said they were happy to “start the New Year with the Bible.”
