Posted

A late evening two-vehicle accident closed Highway 15 for an hour on Monday.

KSP Troopers, the Jackson Police Department, and a fire crew from the Jackson Fire Department responded to the report of an accident at the intersection of Highway 15 and Brewer’s Drive at 9:10 p.m. on April 20.

According to reports, a white Dodge Grand Caravan, owned by Rodney Griffith and driven by Joshua Chandler, of Jackson, crossed the yellow line and hit a white 2024 Chevy Tahoe LT driven by Sarah C. Goff, 39, of Morristown, Tennessee.

Officials said that Goff was pulling onto Highway 15 from Brewer’s Drive when Chandler crossed the center lane and struck her vehicle.

Goff, a minor in her vehicle, and Chandler were evaluated at the scene by Breathitt-Wolfe Ambulance.  All refused treatment or transport.

Long lines of traffic were stopped on Highway 15 as crews worked to investigate the crash.

Tim Jones Towing and Fugate Towing removed both vehicles, which were disabled and unsafe to drive, from the crash site.

The roadway was reopened at 10:10 p.m.

Officer Jeramie Long of the Jackson Police Department is in charge of the investigation.
