Margaret Ann "Peggy" Gabbard, 78, of Jackson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2026 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Born on August 7, 1947 in Elkatawa, Kentucky, Peggy lived a life dedicated to caring for others and creating cherished memories with her loved ones.
Peggy earned her bachelor's degree from Morehead State University and went on to build a meaningful career as a case manager for over 20 years, where she devoted herself to supporting individuals with disabilities. Her compassion and commitment to helping others extended further as she became part owner of Lifetime Potentials, a role she held for 12 years. Through her work and personal endeavors, Peggy touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity.
Peggy found joy in many pursuits that reflected her vibrant spirit. She had a passion for playing the guitar and singing, often filling rooms with music that brought people together. She was also an exceptional cook who delighted in preparing meals for family and friends. Above all, Peggy treasured time spent with those she loved most—her family and friends—and was known for her unwavering dedication to taking care of others.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristi Morgan (Scott Napier), her son, Fred Morgan, her sister, Barbara K. Gabbard and her sister-in-law, Barbara D. Gabbard. Peggy's legacy continues through her grandchildren; Jace Fugate, MacKenzie Napier, Margaret Morgan and Justin Morgan; as well as her great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Warner and Isabella Warner. She was predeceased by her parents, Ray and Mae Hensley Gabbard and her brothers, Ray David Gabbard, Frank Gabbard and Tommy Gabbard.
Peggy's warmth, talent, and selflessness will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May the memories of her life bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
