John Raymond Southwood, 41 of Cynthiana, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Born on September 18, 1984 in Lexington, Kentucky, John spent his life deeply connected to his roots and the people he loved.
John worked for the City of Louisville, dedicating his career to serving his community. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who cherished fishing and hunting. Above all else, family was at the center of John's world. His unwavering devotion to those he held dear was a defining aspect of his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sandra Southwood; his father, John Neace; his girlfriend, Tammy Clark; and his daughter, Jaylen Hodge. John also leaves behind his brothers, Kevin Southwood (Kayla), Jessie Southwood and Clayton Southwood (Rachel); his sister, Christina Oaks; and a host of nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts. A special bond connected John to his aunt, Roseanne Southwood, whom he regarded as a second mother and to his uncle, Bill Combs.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place the fourth of July and there will be a private burial in the McIntosh Cemetery at a later date.
John's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May those who mourn him find comfort in remembering the love and laughter he brought into their lives.
