John D. Neace, 62 of Ned, Ky entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky. He was born on May 11, 1964 in Perry County, Kentucky.
John worked as a self-employed carpenter, a trade that reflected a lifetime of hard work and practical skill. Outside of work, he valued time with family and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his significant other, Kim White; his sons, Kevin Southwood, Jessie Southwood and Clayton Southwood; the mother of his children, Sandra Southwood; his stepmother, Shirley Neace; his stepdaughter, Kendra White; his brothers, John Neace and Roy Neace; his sister, Kim Hootman; and a host of grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Southwood; his parents, John Paul and Mary Golden Neace and several siblings.
Visitation for John will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the Pilgrim Rest Church at Watts beginning at 12:00 PM with his funeral service to begin at 1:00 PM with Anthony Mullins officiating.
John will be remembered for the life he lived in the community where he was born and remained connected and for the time he shared with those closest to him through family, work and the outdoors. His memory will remain with all who knew him.
