Grover Turner, 89, Bowlings Creek passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his home. He was a school bus driver for 39 years for the Breathitt County Board of Education. He also worked in a factory and farmed. He was a member of the Bowlings Creek Church of Christ for 65 years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Grover was the son of the late Frank and Sally "Sadie" Edwards Turner. He was also preceded in death by son, Johnny Lee Turner; brothers, Eugene, Edward, Frank Jr., Russell and Donald; sisters, Alma, Bertha, Mary, Joyce, Altie, Barbara and Christine.
Grover is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gladys Herald Turner; daughters, Grace (Mike) Griffith, Joan (Lennie) Centers; daughter-in-law, Brenda Turner; sisters, Goldie Wells and Phyllis Clark; granddaughters, Sheena, Amy, Sara, Heather; grandson, Andy; great granddaughters, Natalie, Winnie, Chrissa, Johnna; great grandsons, Gabe, John; special cousins, Mose Turner and Lillian Cole; special nephews, Frank and Kirk Moore, Donald J. Raleigh, Glen Herald; special nieces, Grace Raleigh, Lisa Holmes.
Visitation for Grover Turner will be held Saturday, May 18, from 11:00AM til 1:00PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Service will follow on Saturday at 1:00 PM with Patrick Turner, Albert Little, Chris Turner officiating. Burial in the Turner Spicer Cemetery at Bowlings Creek. Serving as Pallbearers: Chris Spicer, Virgil Cole, Michael Spicer, Lindburg Spicer, Clarence Turner, Jeff Turner. Honorary Pallbearers: Lennie Centers, Mike Griffith, Mose Turner, Robert Lee Spicer, Bill Turner, David Griffith.
