In loving memory of Freddie Herman Williams, a beacon of kindness and a true servant leader, who passed away on 1/14/2024. His life and legacy are a testament to the power of compassion, selflessness, and a commitment to serving others.

Born on 6/7/1950 in Jackson, Kentucky, Freddie Williams dedicated his life to making a positive impact on those around him. Freddie never met a stranger, and those that met him never forgot his genuine kind soul. His leadership as an educator with Gwinnett County Public Schools was defined by humility, empathy, and authentic concern for the well-being of others. Whether in his professional career or personal relationships, he exemplified the qualities of a kind hearted and compassionate leader.

Throughout his career, Freddie inspired those he worked with through his unwavering dedication to teamwork and collaboration. He supported and cheered at every school activity while at Sweetwater Middle, Summerour Middle, Lawrenceville Elementary, Rebecca Minor Elementary, Norcross High, and Brookwood High. His reach in the school community focused on supporting and lifting up those around him. He believed in the potential of every individual and made each person around him feel special and loved.

Beyond the workplace, Freddie extended his kindness to his community. He was an active member of his neighborhood, Coopers Pond in Lawrenceville, and he could be heard regularly saying “life is good” and “living the dream” when he spent time at the pool or out to dinner with friends. By everyone that knew him, he was cherished for his warm heart and pure love of people. His kindness knew no bounds, and he touched the lives of many with his generosity, compassion, infectious laugh, and steadfast positivity.

Freddie is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Suzie, his two daughters Jennifer and Emille, and older brother, Buford. He will always be remembered as a loving and supportive family man and a pillar of strength. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the positive impact he had on the world; the world was a better place because of Freddie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date and time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made for Parkinson’s research at The Michael J. Fox Foundation (www.give.michaeljfox.org) in Freddie’s memory.

May Freddie’s legacy of kindness and compassion continue to inspire us all. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him. Heaven gained a beautiful angel who will be listening to music, cheering on the Dawgs, Wildcats, and Braves, and watching over all those he loved.
