KRMC Reopens Remodeled ER
July 03, 2025

JETTS DRIVE - The Kentucky River Medical Center opened and showcased its emergency room renovation during special ceremonies at the hospital on Friday.
Flanked by the mayor, board members, and hospital officials, KRMC Chief Executive Officer Susan Morgan cut the blue ribbon to officially mark the opening of the renovated emergency treatment center.
“This represents a commitment to the community,” CEO Susan Morgan said as she addressed those gathered near the entrance to the emergency room.
The emergency room closed on May 27 as construction crews worked to install new flooring, equipment, and paint. The work took nearly a month, and the results will help provide better care in an updated patient environment.
Those gathered to celebrate the reopening were treated to a luncheon and cake following the brief ceremony.
A healthy Breathitt County requires great community news.
