Wendy’s Closed for June Remodel
June 21, 2025

The number of places in Jackson to eat lunch just shrank by one, but only briefly.
The Jackson Wendy’s, located at 31 Highway 15 South, closed on June 9 and will remain closed while the store undergoes a remodel. Officials with the store expect to “open back up on June 30.”
The restaurant, identified as Store #807, was identified as “temporarily closed” on the international restaurant chain's official webpage.
The popular eatery was limited to drive-thru only sales through June 8, while a reworking of the interior started. On Monday, the entire store closed for the crew's and the public's safety while the work continues.
“We are excited to have a new Wendy’s and hopefully some new employees to go along with the grand reopening,” General Manager Tina Campbell said.
With the updated and reimagined store, Wendy’s is asking for more employees. A general call for applicants was issued across several job clubs and hiring sites online, asking prospective employees to apply for open positions at Middle Kentucky Community Action Partnership at 400 Brown Street in Jackson on June 12 and 20.
Wendy’s in Jackson opened officially on October 23, 1995, and Major Hall was its first paying customer. The store has been remodeled several times over the past thirty years, but the current renovations are the most comprehensive.
Upgrades to the local burger franchise will continue through the end of the month, and company officials hope the community will enjoy the new look.
A healthy Breathitt County requires great community news.
