A Frozen Creek man was airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center after he was kicked by a horse on Mother’s Day.
Dylan Scott Spencer, 25, was kicked in the back of the head about 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, on Morgue Fork of Frozen Creek.
According to family members, Spencer was in the lot with the horse when something spooked the horse.  Spencer was kicked once in the head.  A witness said that Spencer was thrown “a long way across the lot and knocked unconscious.”
Paramedics arrived on the scene and stabilized Spencer for transport.  Due to the extent of his injuries, the medical crews decided to transport Spencer by air to a larger medical facility.  He was taken to meet the helicopter by the Breathitt-Wolfe Ambulance Service.
Spencer was airlifted by ARH AIR Evac helicopter at 6:50 p.m. from the Highway 15 helipad at Vancleve.
He was conscious and alert when transported, but was complaining of head and neck pain.
