David Kent Sandlin

David Kent Sandlin, age 62, of Franklin, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 14, 2025. Born in Richmond, Indiana on February 17, 1963. He was a son to the late E. Dean & Alice (Banta) Sandlin. David was a member of the Redemption Pentecostal Church in Franklin, Ohio. He was passionate about leading songs from the Red Book Hymnal, sharing his testimony, and inviting everyone he encountered to church. He was a graduate of National Trail High School, class of 1981. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Treva Banta; brother, Donald Shumaker; his first wife, Darlene (Stewart) Sandlin; brother-in-law, Jeffery Hill; father-in-law Nathaniel Stewart and father-in-law Edwin D. Bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Leah Danielle (Bowling) Sandlin; their son, Logan Elias Daniel Sandlin; son, Brandon David Sandlin of Cincinnati; daughter, Andrea Grace (Jonathan) Mingledorff of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren, J. Luke, Tate, Joanna Mingledorff, and a grandson expected in August of 2025: siblings George (Beth) Sandlin of Englewood; Teresa Hill of West Alexandria; Sharon (Ed) Heck of Valley Center, Kansas: his church family at Redemption Pentecostal Church: as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary Lee presiding. Burial will be on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Mill Dam Cemetery, Breathitt, Kentucky, at 1:00.
