Tonya Renee Turner

Tonya Renee Turner passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard, Kentucky. 

Born on May 28,1968 in Lexington, Kentucky she was 56 years of age at the time of her passing. 

Tonya pursued a career as a graphic designer. Her creativity and eye for detail were evident in her work and reflected her passion for visual expression.

Beyond her professional life, Tonya found joy in many personal pursuits. She loved reading and sewing, often spending quiet moments immersed in a good book or crafting something by hand. Baking cakes brought her happiness, as did traveling—especially trips to the beach where she could relax under the sun. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family.

Tonya is survived by her parents, James Talbert and Ollie Jones Turner; her sister, Sabrina McElroy and husband, Brock; and her beloved goddaughters, Sara Clark and Samantha McQueary.

Visitation for Tonya will be Monday, April 7, at the funeral home from 5:00 - 9:00 PM with the funeral service being held Tuesday, April 8, at 11:00 AM with Pat Turner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Alice B. Turner Cemetery at Talbert with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
