Lula Creech

Lula Creech, 79, of Jackson, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.
Born on November 14, 1945 in Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary Madgeline “Maggie” Walters Spencer. 
She was also preceded in death by her daughter: Micki Creech Neikirk; brothers: Norman Reece Spencer, Joseph Bruce Spencer, Thomas Lee Spencer, and Fred Spencer; sisters: Mary Anice Hatton, Emily Jane Buckner, Mildred Belcher, and Monta Lucille Centers Allen; nephew: Michael Spencer; and niece: Cathy Buckner.
Lula was a dedicated cosmetologist and also built a successful career in banking, rising from teller to manager.
A woman of many talents and passions, Lula enjoyed playing guitar, quilting, baking, and making candy. She was especially known for her delicious fried apple pies. Her love for music and time spent with family brought her great joy throughout her life.
Lula was a devoted member of the First Church of God where she was active in all departments and deeply involved in the church community.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, 8 months, 29 days, Lloyd Dennis Creech; son: Lloyd Dwayne Creech; daughter-in-law: Raychelle Creech; brother: Rodney Spencer (Kate); sisters: Martha Ann Cornett, Judy Brewer, and Molly Carol Baker (Estill); grandchildren, Kaylee, Allyson, and Christopher; and great-grandchildren, Lydia, Aubree, and Emma.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 6 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM with the funeral service to be held Monday, April 7 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Michael Cornett officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Jackson Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the East District of the First Church of God Ministerial Association.
