Curtis Edward Amis

Curtis Edward Amis, age 79, of Buckhorn, KY passed away on March 11, 2025.  He transitioned peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and daughter in Cross, SC.  Curtis was born July 11, 1945, and was the son of the late Earl Amis and the late Dora Turner Amis.  He is also preceded in death by four brothers: Dale, John, Willie and Earl Amis Jr. and one sister: Elsie Amis. He was a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by three daughters: Sherry (David) Martin of Dorchester, SC, Tonya (Chad) Hamann of Summerville, SC, and Tracey (Johnny) Gray of Berea, KY; three granddaughters:  Mercedes Gray, Madeline Gray and Allison Pearson:  one sister: Julie Gay of Buckhorn, KY; two brothers: Robert (Tina) Amis of Buckhorn, KY and Vernon (Judy) Amis of Buckhorn, KY: and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Government Cemetery, Buckhorn, KY; Brother Dave Woosley officiating.  Deaton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In memory of Curtis Amis, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
