Cynthia Sue Chapman, 77 of Jackson was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Kentucky River Medical Center.
Cynthia was born in Jackson, KY on February 10, 1947, to the late Barbara Hays and William Turner, Jr. She married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Chapman and they were happily married for 58 years. She was an elementary school teacher in Breathitt Co for 27 years and after retirement from there taught in Kanawha Co. WV for 12 years.
She was a member and beloved Sunday school teacher at Grace Bible Church.
Cynthia enjoyed cooking and making candy, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Scott Fugate.
Cynthia is survived by her husband Tommy Chapman, her daughters, Stacy McKnight (Darin), Leslie Cable, and Rhea Price (Chuck), Her grandchildren, Brad Henson, Kirsten Coldiron (Michael), Emma McKnight, Charles Price IV, John-Thomas Price, and Cole Price, her great-grandchildren, PJ Coldiron and Levi Coldiron, her sisters, Debbie Hall, Jennifer Turner, and Pam Brown, and a host of nieces & nephews and extended family.
Visitation and Funeral Service for Cynthia Chapman will be held at the Breathitt Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Coburn officiating. Cynthia will be laid to rest in the family cemetery at Trace Fork. Serving as pallbearers will be Beau Price, John-Thomas Price, Cole Price, Michael Coldiron, Al Collins, Eric Collins, Wade Collins, Brad Henson, David Engle, Darin McKnight, Chalmer Watkins, and Chuck Price.
