Ruth Lois Cundiff

Ruth Lois Cundiff, 88 of Mt. Carmel was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Friday January 10, 2025 at her home.

                                      

Ruth was born in Morristown, TN to the late Harold Jamison Davis and Elizabeth Sarah Thomas Davis.  Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sisters, Grace Elizabeth Davis Anderson and Mary Sue Davis Fisher.

Ruth was a member of the Kentucky Mountain Holiness Association and she attended the Five Mile Community Church.  She was a teacher at the Mount Carmel High School for 43 years.  

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Robert Glen Cundiff; her daughters, Cheryl Cundiff Crane (Bill), Debbie Cundiff Merrill (Matt), Kathy Cundiff Hazle (Steve): her sister, Kathryn Davis Bowden (David); her brother-in-law, Samuel Fisher; her grandchildren, Sarah Klimkowski (David), James Merrill (Rebecca), Joshua Hazle, Jamison Hazle; her great grandson, James Klimkowski; her nephews and nieces, Nathan Fisher (Sunny), Melanie Harris (Michael), Charla Schwartz (Chuck).

Visitation for Ruth will be Thursday, January 16, at the Breathitt Funeral Home from 6:00 - 9:00 PM.  Funeral service will be Friday, January 17, at the McConnell Auditorium at Mt. Carmel with Rev. Tom Lorimer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawson Cemetery at Mt. Carmel.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Hazle, Joshua Hazle, Jamison Hazle, James Merrill, Michael Harris, David Klimkowski.
