Brenda Henson

Brenda Henson, 65 of Chenowee, passed away Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson.

Brenda was born in Breathitt County to the late Ed and Margaret Terry Johnson and she was the widowed wife of the late Ralph Henson who she was married to for 38 yrs.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Jason Henson; her brother, Clifford Combs and her sister, Etta May South.

Brenda was a retired registered nurse having worked at the Owsley County Nursing Home and also with hospice.

In her spare time, she enjoyed running around with her sister, gardening, spending time with her family especially her granddaughter who was her world.

Brenda is survived by her son, Brandon Henson (Leslie Spencer); her brothers, Michael (Carolina) Johnson, Bobby (Jane) Johnson, Davis (Robin) Johnson, Edward Jr. (Teresa) Johnson, Randy Johnson; her sisters, Julia Ramey, Anna Odom, Phyllis Sue (Roy) Ponce; her granddaughter, Lydia Kay Henson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, beginning at 11:00 AM and her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home Chapel with Sherman Clemons officiating.  Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Noctor.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
