Denzil Ray Spencer

Denzil Ray Spencer, 63 of Scuddy passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky.

Denzil was the widower of the late Nelda Ann Hughes and the son of the late Tony and Maggie Feltner Spencer. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Taylor Spencer, Alger Spencer, Denver Spencer; his sisters, Irene Goodson, Emeleen Ison, Linda Riley.

Denzil was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a firefighter for the Forestry Division. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and going junking.

He is survived by his sons, Denzil Spencer Jr., John Thomas Spencer, Kevin Shane Spencer, Steven Wayne Spencer; his sister, Juledine Spencer; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, January 13, at the Happy Freewill Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 AM. Funeral service will also be at the Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rodney Smith and Johnny Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Scuddy Cemetery at Scuddy.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
