Jennie Belle Turner Smith

Jennie Belle Turner Smith, 91 of Altro passed away peacefully at home with family, Saturday, December 14, 2024 at home. 

Jennie was the wife of the late John Smith Jr. and the daughter of the late Jesse and Armine Turner.  She was also preceded in death by eight brothers and four sisters and son-in-law, Hershel Pitts.

She was a chef and a housewife and enjoyed sewing, working jigsaw and sticker puzzles, watching Hour of Harvest and spending time with family.

Jennie was a member of the Altro Church of God.

She is survived by special daughters and caregivers, Debbie Lynn Pitts and Jennifer Burton; special son-in-law and caregiver, Woodrow Glenn Burton; daughters, Ella (Lonnie) Cole, Wanda Smith, Brenda (Jack) Queen, Kathy (Delmer) Jones; brother, Roy Lee (Anne) Turner; special cousin, Dr. Gary Turner, eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.

Visitation for Jennie will be Monday, December 16, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the funeral home with funeral service to be held Tuesday, December 17, 2:00 PM with Chris Turner, Larry Collins and Roy Lee Turner officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Haddix Cemetery with Kelvin Combs, Jeff Combs, Greg Collins, Glenn Burton and Jr Vires serving as pallbearers.
