Addie Hazel Johnson

Addie Hazel Johnson, 85, loving wife of Jesse Johnson, of Booneville, Kentucky went home to be with her Lord December 2, 2024 surrounded by family.   She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky February 24, 1939, a daughter to the late Woodrow Murrell and Jalah (Barrett) Murrell.  She is also preceded in death by five brothers John, Bobby, Junior, Kenneth and Fred (Angie) and two sisters; Beulah (Lawrence) and Doris.  In addition to her family, she is preceded in death by her in-laws whom she loved immensely. 

Addie was a loving mother to three daughters, Kathy “Roger” Callahan, Vicky Johnson (David Wilson) and Vonda Miracle (Ralph).  In addition to her daughters she was blessed with six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.  

For many years she ran the family farm alongside her husband of 65 years and 11 months.  She was an amazing homemaker, a wonderful cook, master seamstress and loved to fish.  She enjoyed nothing more than being with her family especially her grandchildren.

Visitation for Addie was Friday, December 6, 2024 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home.  Funeral services was Saturday. December 7, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Searcy and Strong Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Turner officiating.  Burial will follow at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Chestnut Gap.   

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Owsley County Health Care Center in her name.
