Melvin Eugene "Gene" Taulbee

Melvin Eugene "Gene" Taulbee, 82 of Jackson, Ky passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 at the Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson.  

Gene was born in Breathitt County to the late Orville James and Ethel Banks Taulbee.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie Lynn Taulbee; his brother, Ray Taulbee; his sisters, Peggy Bryant and Angelica Taulbee.

He worked as a bookkeeper for Ideal Bottling Gas for several years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his kids, going on Sunday drives and fishing.

Gene is survived by his sons, Jimmy Dewayne Taulbee and his best friend, Marlene Lewis, James Taulbee and his wife, Tiffany; his daughter, Sebrina Faulkner and her husband, Charles; her stepdaughter, Shanae Bush; his brother, Bill Taulbee; his sisters, Sue Bythewood and Linda Thomas; his grandchildren, Joy Lynn Wiseman (Kalea), Sarah Lynn Osborne (Jordan), Charles Faulkner IV (Halle), Wyatt Taulbee, Ryan Taulbee, Connor Taulbee, Haley Taulbee, Cameron Taulbee, Skylar Kilburn; his great grandchildren, Emilia Yvonne Faulkner, Ada Grace Faulkner, Rhett Griffin Faulkner; host of nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be Monday, December 2, at 11:00 AM with funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Eddie Thomas officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Field Branch Cemetery at Lower Taulbee Fork with Jimmy Dewayne Taulbee, James Taulbee, Charlie Faulkner, Jordan Osborne, Charles Faulkner IV, Wyatt Taulbee serving as pallbearers.
