Carolyn Pettit, 69 departed this earthly life Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Norton Audobon Hospital in Louisville.
Carolyn was born August 15,1955 in Hazard, KY to the late Charlie and Lula Bell Lawson Stidham. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Eric Neace; her mother-in-law, Imogene Wilder; her sisters, Grace Jones, Sue Southwood, Mary Southwood, Judy Brown, Shelby Ritchie, Inez Smith; her brothers, Delbert Smith, John Stidham, Clarence Stidham.
Carolyn spent her years raising all of her children while taking care of others until she retired as a factory worker for Nestle in Mt. Sterling. She enjoyed her retirement years spending time with her children, family and friends, going to family gatherings, and watching UK basketball.
Carolyn is survived by her spouse of over 25 years, Rick Wilder; her father-in-law, William Wilder (Myrtle Thompson); her children, Jennifer (Darren) Pelfrey, Brian (Tina) Neace, Alisa (Ottis) Clemons, Ricky Wilder, Tammy (Greg) Haughbrook, Melissa Reimney, David (Reyna) Pettit; her sister, Florence Taylor; her special sister, Joyce Stidham; her special daughters, Ernestine Turner, Becky Cole, Angela Southwood; her grandchildren, Roy, Brandon, Travis, Michael, Tyler, Trinity, Jarrod, Pnut, Trevor, Shamaka, David, Diego, Daleyza, Joe, Anthony, Pesina, Isiah, Gomez, Ty. Livi, Alexis and Mathew; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of special nephews and nieces.
Visitation for Carolyn will be Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at the Breathitt Funeral Home and her funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 12:00 PM with David Haddix officiating.
Burial will follow in the McIntosh Cemetery at Clayhole with Ricky Wilder, Roy Kidd, Tyler Pelfrey, David Stidham, David Pettit and Ty Clemons serving as pallbearers.
