Hazel Young Howard

Hazel Young Howard born February 28, 1935 to Caroline and Simeon Young passed away on September 19, 2024. Hazel was a life long resident of Breathitt County. She was preceded in death by her husband Kizer Bill Howard, her parents Caroline and Simeon Young, her son Willie Gene Howard. Also preceded in death by one grandson Daniel Howard. She is survived by three sons Cluster (Sandy) Howard of Richmond, Ky. Henry (Rita) Howard of Jackson and Carl Howard of Jackson, Kentucky. She is also survived by one daughter Beatrice (Tom) Young of Georgetown, Texas. She is survived by three brothers Paul Young of Clarksville, Tennessee. Lowell Young of Carlisle, Ohio and Sim Young of Bremen, Indiana. She is also survived by one sister Dorothy Hardin of Middletown, Ohio. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren Michelle, Emily, Lindsey, Tommy, Todd, Tari, and Aliesha. As well as a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
Hazel Howard loved and lived life to the fullest. She was especially loved by her children and grandchildren whom she made biscuits and gravy for on many occasions. All her children and grandchildren felt special and thought they were her favorite. Hazel was very loyal to her family and friends. She took in and supported many of her grandchildren when they had no one else to turn to during their troubled times. Hazel was never shy about voicing her opinions on religion, politics, and life in general. She was the glue that kept the Howard family together. 
Visitation for Hazel Howard will be Sunday September 22, 2024 from 5 to 8 pm. The funeral will be at 11 am on Monday September 23 with the Rev. John Bunn in charge of arrangements. Burial to follow at the Howard Cemetery on Southfork. Pallbearers Tommy Young, Chase Alexander Howard, Paul Ulery, Michael Botros, Nick Allen and Caleb Turner.
