Shade Clayton Davidson

Shade Clayton Davidson, a resident of Bradenton, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on September 18, 2023. The son of John and Gracie Davidson and the youngest of seven siblings, Shade was born April 7, 1930, in Breathitt County, KY.

He was a lifelong resident of Louisville, KY. He retired after 40 years from Reynolds Metalworks. He was also a real estate agent and a photographer. He was an avid sportsman, making trips each year to New York, Pennsylvania and Wyoming. Shade was also a member of the “Fox Hunters Club” in Shelbyville, KY, and participated in the yearly event of “Running of the Hounds”. He was an honorary 32nd degree Mason at the Plumb Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Beverly Thigpen-Davidson. He was the proud father of five children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shade was an honest and loving man and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed.

A Visitation will be held 10 AM to 1 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Watts Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Davidson family cemetery in Barwick, KY.
