Daytime closures of KY 1098 in Breathitt County continue Aug. 6, 7, 11

JACKSON, Ky. – Drivers who use KY 1098 (South Fork Road) in Breathitt County should prepare to use an alternate route Wednesday, Thursday, and Monday, Aug. 6, 7, and 11. Steel drilling to repair a break in pavement will continue on those dates.

The road will be blocked during daytime hours, typically 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at milepoint 6.071. This location is between Press and Wilstacy. Work will not begin until after school buses run in the morning.

No signed detour will be posted, but drivers can use KY 30, KY 542, and Big Lovely Road; or KY 15, KY 476, Flint Ridge Road, and Leatherwood-Southfork Road as an alternate route.

Fewer than 330 vehicles use this section of KY 1098 each day.
