School Starting Dates Announced

Several local school systems have announced their starting dates as the summer winds down and the start of a new school year approaches.

Breathitt County Schools announced that teachers and staff will return on August 4 for professional development, and the first day for students is August 7. 

Jackson Independent School District will host a professional development day on August 4, and students will return on August 7. 

Students at Mt. Carmel School will return for the fall semester on August 11. 

Riverside Christian School at Lost Creek will welcome students back on Wednesday, August 13.

The dorms of Oakdale Christian Academy will open for enrolled students on Thursday, August 14, and classes begin on August 15.

Classes at Lees College Campus of Hazard Community and Technical College are set to begin for the 16-week session on Monday, August 18.

Instruction at the Kentucky Mountain Bible College at Vancleve will begin on August 22.
