Daytime closures of KY 1098 in Breathitt County Monday-Friday, July 28-Aug. 1

JACKSON, Ky. – Drivers who use KY 1098 (South Fork Road) in Breathitt County should prepare to use an alternate route next week. Repairs to a break in pavement are scheduled to begin Monday, July 28.

The road will be blocked during daytime hours, typically 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., through Friday, Aug. 1, at milepoint 6.071. This location is between Press and Wilstacy.

No signed detour will be posted, but drivers can use KY 30, KY 542, and Big Lovely Road; or KY 15, KY 476, Flint Ridge Road, and Leatherwood-Southfork Road as an alternate route.

Fewer than 330 vehicles use this section of KY 1098 each day.
