Monica Leigh Hudson

Monica Leigh Hudson, 49, of Carrollton, KY, formerly of Breathitt County, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY.

She was born on July 14, 1976, to Burley R. and Betty M. Richardson Hudson.

Monica was a vibrant and talented individual who loved life and embraced every moment to the fullest. She was a former employee of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services before becoming disabled. A gifted musician, Monica was an accomplished pianist and a member of the All-State Chorus during her high school years, where she also cheered on the sidelines as a spirited cheerleader. Her love for music and dancing brought joy to those around her, and she found fulfillment in reading and researching any topic that sparked her curiosity.

An extremely talented artist, Monica created numerous beautiful paintings that reflected her creativity and passion. She had a deep love for the water, a real "water dog,” and enjoyed the lake and all kinds of water sports. A devoted UK basketball fan, Monica loved traveling and attending music concerts whenever the opportunity arose, but most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, friends, and those she loved.

Monica was of the Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Reeve and Pherbia Hudson, and her maternal grandparents, Mack and Kelsie Richardson.

Monica is survived by her loving parents, Burley R. and Betty M. Richardson Hudson; her daughters, Kelsie Raylee Allen and Cierra Jo Harrison; her son, Trey Allen (Amber); and her brother, Adrian Ray Hudson (Kimi). She also leaves behind her nieces, Jazmin JoRay Hudson and Adrienne Grace Hudson, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 4:00–6:00 PM at Breathitt Funeral Home, with her memorial service and celebration of life beginning at 6:00 PM. Tim Miller will officiate the service.
