Hardin Injured in Thursday Crash

July 21, 2025

Police and emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle injury accident on Thursday on Highway 30 East after a young man wrecked on his way to church.
According to reports, Jarrett Hardin was driving a blue Toyota Tacoma north toward Quicksand when he lost control on a wet roadway on July 10.
The driver overcorrected and struck the guardrail in the Barnett Curve near Peach Tree Lane.  The vehicle then crossed the guardrail and went over a steep embankment.  The Tacoma came to rest on its side against several trees on the creek bank.
Hardin was able to exit the vehicle but could not climb up the steep hillside to the roadway.
Two people in a passing vehicle, which happened to have the windows down, stopped when they heard screams and saw the skid marks and damaged guardrail.  When they stopped, they located the wrecked vehicle and heard someone yelling over the hill on the creek bank.
Firefighters from the Quicksand and Jackson Fire Departments responded to the accident and worked, using a Stokes basket and rope, to pull Hardin up the hill to the ambulance.  He was transported to the Kentucky River Medical Center for evaluation and later released.
Hardin took to social media the following day to thank emergency crews and those who contacted him following the accident.  “It means a lot to me,” he wrote.  “I can’t put into words how thankful I am.”
Troopers from Post 13 investigated the incident.
